As a mixed media artist, I love playing around and experimenting with different mediums. But sometimes I need to take a break from one while I hone my skills in another.

That being said, lately I've felt a longing to paint with watercolours again after taking a break from them these past few months.

So while I create new video content (new YouTube videos are in the works!), I've decided to share with you some fun watercolour tutorials to inspire you to paint something new today.

I created all 3 of these tutorials in video format, so they're suitable for artists who enjoy learning by following along to step-by-step video instructions.

In this step-by-step watercolour tutorial, you learn how to paint an easy watercolour landscape for beginners.

With a focus on warm colours, you learn how to paint a watercolour sunset sky, mountains, a tree, and flying birds.

As well, this tutorial focuses entirely on using the wet-on-dry technique to create a complete painting.

🎥 Easy watercolour galaxy for beginners 🎨 Paint with me​

In this step-by-step watercolour tutorial, you learn how to paint an easy watercolour galaxy for beginners.

Specifically, you learn how to apply the wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques to layer the paint in order to create a dreamy, celestial galaxy sky.

As well, you learn how to use the wet-on-dry technique to paint watercolour pine trees.

Lastly, you discover how to use gouache and the splattering technique to create a beautiful sky filled with sparkling stars.


🎥 AVOID muddy colours in watercolour │ How to paint with complementary colours​

In this easy watercolour tutorial, you learn how to paint with complementary colours (which are opposite hues on the colour wheel) to create a watercolour sky painting with clouds.

This tutorial is suited for advanced beginners who have some painting experience, and it focuses on using the complementary colours blue and orange.
