How to get better at drawing in 4 simple steps

Hey there, Reader!

First of all, I'd love to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who responded to last week's newsletter!

Overall, our art community voted in favour of attending and watching livestreams on my YouTube channel.

As a result, I'm happy and excited to announce that livestreaming will be coming to my YouTube channel in the near future!

That being said, I need to wrap up some creative projects before I start livestreaming.

As well, I need to figure out the tech such as livestreaming with two cameras, what software to use, etc. So stay tuned because I'll update you on this topic very soon!

Now, let's dive into the subject of this week's newsletter...

Many artists in our art community love drawing because it's a fun and relaxing hobby that brings them great joy.

However, drawing can sometimes feel frustrating when you hit a plateau and you struggle to take your drawings to the next level.

When that happens, the best thing to do is to troubleshoot your drawing process to figure out where you’re getting stuck.

To help you break through your drawing plateau and take your drawings to new heights, I wrote a helpful new blog post titled How to Get Better at Drawing in 4 Simple Steps.

In this blog post, I share practical tips on these 4 important topics:

  • How to create more dynamic shading
  • How to pick better reference photos
  • Why you should start drawing from life
  • Why you might need to review the basics of drawing

Each point is filled with actionable steps to help you make steady and meaningful progress with your drawings.

By the time you're done reading, you'll understand where you might be having problems with your drawings and/or your drawing process.

This is actually good news because with this awareness, you can make practical changes in your drawings to break through your current drawing plateau and reach a new artistic level, Reader.

ACTION STEP: Read the blog post and then identify one of the steps that resonates with you. Apply the advice to your art process to start improving your drawings.

Talk to you again soon,

Your art instructor,

Miranda
